Cookie & Tracking Policy

How we measure and improve this site — and the controls you have. Last updated 4 October 2026.

Our approach

We keep measurement privacy-first. We use our own self-hosted analytics — we do not sell or share your data with third-party advertising networks, and the data stays on infrastructure we control.

What we use

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics platform we host ourselves at analytics.curatedworkflows.com. It provides three things:

  • Site analytics — pages viewed, referring links, approximate location (city level), and device/browser type.
  • Session replay — a reconstruction of on-page interactions (clicks, scrolls, navigation) to help us find usability problems.
  • Heatmaps — aggregate views of where visitors click and scroll.

We ask first (consent)

None of the analytics, session replay, or heatmap scripts run until you choose Accept on our consent banner. If you Decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we do not load them and no recording takes place. You can change your choice at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer.

How we protect your information

  • Input masking — text you type into forms is masked in session replays, so we do not capture the content of form fields.
  • Self-hosted — recordings and analytics are stored on our own servers, not shared with a third-party vendor.
  • Limited retention — recordings and raw analytics are retained only as long as needed to improve the site, then deleted.

Cookies & local storage

Umami is largely cookieless. To remember your consent choice, we store a single value (vai-consent) in your browser’s local storage — it stays on your device and is not used to track you. Strictly necessary technology required to operate the site is always on.

Your choices & rights

You can accept or decline at any time via “Your Privacy Choices.” Depending on where you live — including California (CCPA/CPRA) — you may have rights to access, delete, or correct your information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We honor Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out. To exercise your rights, use our Privacy Requests page, and see our Privacy Policy for full details.
